2016 Hyundai Santa Fe Highlander CRDi (4×4) Review
I'll be honest I was beyond sceptical when I first walked into the Hyundai dealer, having grown up with the Excel dominating the roads.
- Value for Money, Standard Inclusions, Styling, Great size and comfortable interior
- Bugs with display screen, Radio carries a lot of static
I was looking to replace my 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV6. I test drove the Audi Q3/5, Mercedes GLC, Range Rover Sport/Evoque, Mazda CX5, Nissan X-Trail, the list goes on.
Now none of these cars grabbed me as being a great value for money, I mean the list above range in price from $40,000 - $120,000.
Sure some of the above will get more looks, objectively have a better quality of finish yet the reason I bought the Santa Fe is I believe that no other car on the market comes close to it in value for money, inclusions, style and performance.
The drive is smooth and responsive, the cabin is well appointed with some great standard features, the reversing camera, front sensors, blind sport detection, lane departure warning are inclusions well above some much more expensive rivals.
Overall this is a great car for the couple or growing family. A few little gripes though my centre screen will sometimes not turn on, I have to get out of the car then, lock the car then, re enter and start for it to resolve and the radio when I do listen to it doesn't always come through clearly, both of these are being looked into by Hyundai.
If these can be resolved then I will have no issues at all with the car. Hopefully it brings many years of happy motoring, at half the price of my previous car!
