2021 Maserati Ghibli and Levante F Tributo Special Edition revealed, Australian launch confirmed
Maserati's large sedan and SUV gain racing-inspired special editions, paying tribute to iconic F1 racer Juan Manuel Fangio.
The 2021 Maserati Ghibli and Levante F Tributo Special Editions have been unveiled, ahead of an Australian launch in June 2021.
Unveiled quietly at last week's Shanghai motor show, the special-edition Ghibli sedan and Levante SUV pay tribute to Maserati's racing history, from its global motorsport debut during the Targa Florio of 1926, to its early participation Formula One races in the 1950s with Juan Manuel Fangio – with the Argentinian driver lending his last name to the special edition's name.
Two unique exterior colours are available: Rosso Tributo, paying homage the traditional Italian motorsport colour (red) used by Maserati race cars of the 20th century, plus Azzurro Tributo, intended to reference one of the colours of the City of Modena, where Maserati is based.
Yellow brake calipers and alloy wheel accent strips pay tribute to the red and yellow livery of Fangio's Maserati 250F Formula One car.
Other highlights include black 21-inch 'Anteo' wheels on the Ghibli or gloss black 21-inch 'Titano' wheels on the Levante, plus gloss black badging on the front wheel arches of both vehicles, body-coloured Maserati trident emblems on their C-pillars, and red or yellow contrast stitching for the standard-fit full-grain black leather inside the cabin.
Engine details for the F Tributo models have yet to be confirmed, however it's rumoured European models will offer a selection of twin-turbocharged petrol V6 engines, developing up to 321kW in S models.
The 2021 Maserati Ghibli and Levante F Tributo Special Edition models are slated to go on sale in Australia in June 2021. Local pricing and specifications will be announced closer to launch.
