2020 Ferrari Roma unveiled
The Ferrari Roma, a new "2+" coupe with two full-size front seats and two smaller seats at the rear, has been unveiled overnight.
Under the long bonnet, the Roma has a version of Ferrari's 3.9-litre turbocharged V8 engine. For the grand tourer, the engine – a variation of which is used in the F8 Tributo – has been tuned to deliver 456kW of power between 5750 and 7500rpm, and 760Nm of torque between 3000 and 5750rpm.
Drive is sent to the rear wheels through the eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which made its debut on the hybrid SF90 Stradale.
According to Ferrari, the 1472kg coupe is capable of completing the 0-100km/h dash in 3.4 seconds, and hitting the 200km/h mark in 9.3 seconds. Top speed is said to be over 320km/h.
By way of comparison, the mid-engine F8 Tributo has 530kW and 770Nm. The more sporting F8 has a claimed 0-100km/h time of 2.9s, can cross 200km/h in 7.6s, and has a top speed of 340km/h.
The Roma's cabin features a digital instrumentation screen, a small touchscreen ahead of the front passenger, and a portrait-oriented touchscreen in the centre for the infotainment and climate control systems.
Measuring 4656mm long and 1974mm wide, the Roma is almost the same size as the V12-powered 812 Superfast Grand Tourer.
With a height of 1301mm, and a 2670mm wheelbase, the Roma's roof is 25mm higher off the ground, while there's 50mm less space between the wheels.
Ferrari has yet to announce pricing for the Roma.
