2020 Bentley Continental GT Convertible recalled due to roof fault
37 examples recalled for an electric roof that can be activated remotely from, oddly, too far away.
Bentley has recalled 37 examples of its Continental GT Convertible in Australia, citing a potential safety risk associated with the electric roof mechanism.
The affected vehicles are designated MY2020, and were sold between November 2019 and November 2020.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says “the convertible roof can be activated using the key fob at distances greater than six metres.”
“At distances greater than six metres, the person opening [or] closing the roof may have a restricted view of the vehicle and its occupants, increasing the risk of an injury to vehicle occupants or bystanders,” the notice continues.
CarAdvice has contacted Bentley Australia for further comment on the associated risks. This story will be updated with its response.
