2018 BMW M2 Black Shadow Edition unveiled
Best-selling M-car gets a stealthy makeover
BMW has unveiled the M2 Black Shadow Edition, with a range of blacked-out styling tweaks to stand out from the crowd.
According to the company, the M2 was the best-selling BMW M car last year, with more than 12,000 finding homes worldwide.
The Black Shadow builds on the same basic foundation as the regular M2, with power from a 272kW 3.0-litre turbocharged inline six, for a 4.3-second sprint to 100km/h. The special edition will be offered with a seven-speed M DCT transmission, or a six-speed manual.
In a move that will make Henry Ford happy, the car is available in any colour as long as it's Sapphire Black. It rides on matte-black 19-inch forged alloy wheels, just like the ones you'll find on the M3 and M4 CS.
The exterior mirrors are finished in high-gloss carbon-fibre, and the trim around the kidney grille and fender vents is now painted black. Down back, the diffuser is trimmed in carbon as well, while the quad-exhaust system is finished in gloss black.
The M2 Black Shadow Edition will be rolling out of the factory starting in April.
