2013 Ssangyong Korando S Review
I've had my Ssangyong Korando for just over two years now. The price is fantastic for the size and reliability of the vehicle. If you want a true five seater with most of the safety inclusions and something bigger than the small range of SUV's, you can't go past the Korando and at $21,990 drive-away, you are not busting the wallet and getting plenty of car for the price. Just keep it until it's paid off, and you have value motoring.
- Excellent purchase price, Most safety inclusions, Heaps of room in back seats, Excellent visability, Fairly economical for a SUV
- Hard plastics
You also have peace of mind with a five year warranty and five year roadside assistance, which believe me has come in handy in case you've locked your keys in the car.
I've done nearly 15,000km and servicing including a wheel alignment was $329.00. I am getting approximately 7.8L/km for city driving and 6.7L/km on a highway cycle. The Korando has not missed a beat. Yes, the Korando is not a fast racing machine, it's a 2 litre petrol engine, but it handles city driving well and does the speed limits on the highway.
I find the seats very comfortable with good hip-entry and plenty of room in the back for five adults, Also the back seats are able to recline. There is absolutely loads of space in the boot and an incredible amount with the seats folded down.
The downside is you miss back camera and the big colour screen and fancy entertainment experience (but this has been rectified I believe of the current Korando model) , but you have rear parking sensors, auto tyre inflation warning and many other standard fit outs.
It's a shame more people don't know about Ssangyong vehicles. Solid, great value and they do the job without costing you a fortune. I'm very happy with mine.
