South Australian driver crashes car after “ill-timed” kiss
An unexpected moment of affection led to the car rolling and crashing – with police confirming no one was injured in the incident.
A South Australian driver is set to appear in court following an unexpected moment of affection resulting in a car crash.
The incident is said to have occurred on 14 May 2024 in Glenelg North – a southwest suburb approximately 10km from Adelaide.
South Australia Police said the motorist was distracted by her passenger’s “ill-timed” kiss while she was changing the music, which caused the driver to lose control of the Mazda 3 – with the sedan rolling and crashing across Tapleys Hill Road before eventually stopping on its side at Jervois Street.
Authorities confirmed the driver, and the passenger did not sustain any injuries and were able to exit the vehicle.
As a result of the incident, the 25-year-old motorist was charged with aggravated driving without due care and she is due to appear at a local court at an unspecified date.
The 18-year-old passenger was handed an expiation notice – which means you can pay a fine to wipe your slate clean – “for impeding the driver’s ability to control the vehicle.”
