Mercedes-Benz Australia recalls 64 cars: C-Class, E-Class, CLS
Model years between 2019 and 2020 have been recalled due to a potential turbocharger assembly fault.
Mercedes-Benz Australia has issued a recall on 64 cars, citing a potential fault with the turbocharger assembly.
The affected models are the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, E-Class, and CLS with model years between 2019 and 2020.
The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says that “screws for the turbocharger oil feed and oil return lines may not have been correctly tensioned during the assembly process.”
“If the screws are loose, oil may leak out at the turbocharger oil feed and/or oil return line. Leaking oil may come into contact with hot component parts and a fire could occur,” the German manufacturer added in the notice.
“This could result in injuries or death of vehicle occupants or other road users.”
Affected cars were sold between 1 April, 2019, and 31 July, 2020.
