2020-2021 Toyota HiLux Rogue recalled with multiple electrical faults
The electronic roller cover faults could lead to short circuiting, overheating, and a potential fire risk, according to the manufacturer.
Toyota Australia has recalled 683 examples of its 2021 Toyota HiLux Rogue dual-cab ute, citing up to three potential faults with the electronic roller cover.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between May and October 2020 (Model Years 2020-2021), with many of these vehicles affected by more than one of the cited faults.
The recall notice says the trio of faults – which include a range of electrical malfunctions – could potentially cause “damage to the Dark Current (DCU) … overheating of the roller cover motor … a short circuit, and in the worst case, vehicle fire.”
CarAdvice has contacted Toyota Australia for further comment on the fault. This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
