2021 Skoda Kamiq 110TSI Ambition coming soon to fill high 85TSI demand
Overwhelming demand has seen Skoda's base Kamiq sold out for 2021 – and there's a new 110TSI variant coming to fill its place.
Skoda Australia will soon introduce a more affordable version of its Kamiq small SUV to help ease demand-related supply issues: the 2021 Skoda Kamiq 110TSI Ambition.
Confirmed in a media release detailing semiconductor-related stock shortages on key Volkswagen and Skoda models – as reported first by CarAdvice – the Kamiq 110TSI Ambition will be introduced "shortly", though exact arrival timing has yet to be confirmed.
It will fill the gap left by the entry-level Kamiq 85TSI, which is currently not available for sale after strong demand outstripped supply, and saw much of 2021's entire allocation sold out just a few months into the year – with Skoda Australia confirming today order books not expected to reopen until "later this year".
Pricing and specifications for the 110TSI Ambition have yet to be confirmed, however expect it to be priced between the $29,990 Kamiq 85TSI auto, and the $36,990 drive-away 110TSI Monte Carlo auto.
Standard equipment levels should also slot somewhere between the two variants, with features shared with the 85TSI including an 8.0-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 18-inch wheels, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, keyless entry, dual-zone climate control, an electric tailgate and adaptive cruise control.
