2018 Volvo XC60 teased ahead of Geneva debut
The next-generation Volvo XC60 has been teased ahead of its global debut at the Geneva motor show next month.
In these new images released by Volvo, we can see the all-new SUV will bear a strong resemblance to the company's newest models, particularly the larger XC90.
However, unlike the '90 Series' models, the XC60's 'Thor Hammer' headlights appear to extend through to the front grille.
Under the skin the new XC60 will use the company's Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) platform, which also forms the basis of the 90 Series range - designed to support hybrid and pure-electric drivetrains.
With this in mind, expect a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and potentially full-electric (EV) versions of the XC60 to form part of the range.
Additionally, the XC60 will likely feature a range of Volvo's new Drive-E four-cylinder engine family - comprising of turbocharged four-cylinder petrol and diesel units in a range of tunes - as seen in the larger XC90.
Volvo's Australian arm has already confirmed its new GLC fighter will arrive in local show rooms late this year, some eight years after the current version first went on sale.
Despite its age, the XC60 has been a sales success for the Swedish marque, selling over 750,000 units globally since its launch late last decade.
