2018 Volvo XC60 leaked ahead of reveal
An image claiming to be of the all-new Volvo XC60 has been published ahead of the crossover's unveiling at the 2017 Geneva motor show this week.
Autoblog.nl has published what it says is a leaked image of the new XC60 from side on. If the leaked photo is indeed the second-generation XC60, the new crossover doesn't stray too far from the design of the larger XC90.
Unlike the range-topping SUV, however, the XC60 seems to feature smoother surfacing, and less brutal details. Up front, the rounder headlights retain the 'Thor's Hammer' light signature first seen on the latest 90-Series vehicles.
Around the back there's a raked forward tailgate, and tall tail-light units that link the new XC60 to the first-generation model.

Under the skin, the XC60 will use a shortened version of the Scalable Product Architecture that underpins the S90, V90 and XC90 models.
That means motivation should come from a selection of four-cylinder engines aided, depending on the model, by turbocharging, supercharging and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain.
Volvo has already previewed some of the XC60's new safety features, including an updated collision avoidance system that can steer the car away from lane merging collisions, on-coming vehicles, and other potential types of accidents.
